Monday January 6, 2025: historic date for our colleagues from France Bleu Cotentin (Manche), which officially becomes “Ici Cotentin” from 5 a.m. . And change of name which concerns the 43 other stations of the “Bleu” network in the territory but also the programs of France 3 Régions, now all brought together under the “ICI” banner. The point with Jérôme Guyon, director of France Bleu Cotentin/Ici Cotentinin Cherbourg (Manche).

What should your listeners expect from this Monday, January 6, 2025?

Our listeners will wake up with the same team and the same programs, but they will be able to appreciate the promise of this “360 media” radio, TV and digital.

“Here” is the media that lives like us here. “Here” is the word that most embodies proximity. Here Cotentin will be part of this dynamic, relaying even more locally, what our listeners are saying and experiencing. We are very close and that is what sets us apart. So more local news, more good deals, more practical advice, more services and more digital proposals. We are also strengthening our offer by broadcasting a local program around music and good humor from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. We are also very present on the web via the “Here” application that all listeners can download. Another new feature: the creation of a tourist podcast “Partir”, designed as a guide for people who wish to visit our region and discover the specificities of the Channel. We will also promote the Norman language through short videos produced by our specialist François Thiébot.

Is this an important moment for you and your team?

My team is really keen to make Ici Cotentin the leading local radio station in the Manche region. I know their enthusiasm and I know that I can count on them. I am grateful for it every day and I salute all the work that has been done upstream to be ready this Monday. It’s a unique and very exciting moment in a career to experience a brand change. “Here” is the creation of a common brand of our network with our friends from France 3 Régions. It aims to bring together our strengths and embody proximity. Moreover, our listeners can follow our filmed morning shows from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. We reaffirm our DNA: local news, music and good humor.

What are your station’s plans this year?

We will do everything to strengthen our No. 1 radio audience in Cherbourg and in Nord-Cotentin, and try to convince new Manche listeners to join the “Ici” family. We will continue to embody proximity and follow all Mancho events. To cite a few examples: after an 80^e anniversary of the Normandy Landings which mobilized our teams, we are already thinking about the next edition with a very strong moment since the international ceremony will take place this year at Utah Beach. We will not fail to celebrate the return of our Barneville-Carteret skipper Louis Duc, who is participating in the Vendée Globe. We plan to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on our air next March. We will continue to organize great operations with our listeners with the project of a major “ICI live” concert at the end of the year. We will not fail to be generous in thanking them.
