Jay Weinberg, former Slipknot drummer and current member of Suicidal Tendencies, has announced the upcoming release of a solo project in 2025. In a recent post on his social networks, the musician revealed that these compositions, created at different points in his career, include songs from his time in Slipknot.
A project that has been maturing for several years
In a message to his fans, Jay Weinberg shared the origin of this project: “This photo is from 2017, at a time when I had formed a band to play this music live, during a long period of inactivity, away from touring. It was an incredible experience and an exciting creative challenge. I haven’t touched these songs since, until recently when I felt inspired to pick up the guitar again and rework these ideas. It’s been a learning experience, and I’m starting to really appreciate the direction these songs are taking. It’s exciting to be planning to release this new music next year.”
Weinberg, best known for his role behind the drums, shows here a more personal and varied side of his creativity. This solo project promises to reveal a new dimension of his artistic talent.

Between the stage and the studio
In addition to his solo project, Jay Weinberg is preparing to hit the road again with Suicidal Tendencies, which will open for Metallica in stadiums (during certain dates of the tour M72) in 2025. Despite this busy schedule, he remains determined to devote time in the studio to finalize this project which he describes as very personal: “I’m so excited for everything that awaits us [avec Suicidal]but I’m also very motivated by the idea of spending time in the studio, especially working on this collection of songs. I can’t wait for you to discover them. When they are ready, you will know.”
