It is undeniable that Honda’s path to recovery in MotoGP is difficult, long, and can lead to a loss of motivation, but Alberto Puig assured that the manufacturer is gradually understanding what it must do and is improving, even if the Results may not be visible in reality. The focus and the desire to improve, he explains, fully exist.
The Team Manager of the team of Joan Mir and Luca Marini spoke about the current situation on the official website of the championship: ‘It’s not easy, clearly the results are not what we want. It was a year where, in the first half of the season, we tried many, many things, many solutions, while in the second we had – more or less – an idea of what might work or not . We’ve made some improvements, not as many as we would like but we’ve made progress, and we’re constantly looking at how to prepare the bike for next year.’
Although in practice the evolution is not perceptible on the track, the structure is making progress, and the focus and belief in better results have not disappeared:
– We have not yet achieved the results we are looking for but from a technical point of view they understand more and more how to operate, where to go and what we need to do, which is very important, but it probably takes time before the results are visible in reality and on paper. We honestly never lost our recovery lap. It is the desire and the will that pushes you to continue even though clearly we are behind, that is a fact.
