Three years after the mini-series Dexter : New Blood which followed the series Dexterthe vigilante serial killer has already made his return in a new series currently being broadcast in the United States on Paramount+. This is a prequel, titled Dexter : Original Sinwhich could have several seasons. The French will discover this series with Patrick Dempsey in the cast in 2025 on Canal+, on a date not yet set.
Dexter : an update on the 3 new series to come
If Michael C. Hall does not appear on screen, he remains present by voice as narrator, as usual. Young Dexter is played by Patrick Gibson (The Tudors, The OA, Shadow and Bone). But Michael C. Hall has indeed planned to replay Dexter Morgan in the sequel to New Bloodwhich could arrive on our screens next summer under the name of Dexter: Resurrection, which begins filming in January. And that's not all, since a fifth series inspired by the books by Jeff Lindsay should then see the light of day!
The Trinity Killer will be entitled to its spin-off
If you serial killer New Blood made viewers tremble, another has not left the memory of fans. During the eight seasons of Dexterwhich aired from 2006 to 2013, many serial killers were tracked by the forensic bloodstain analysis expert, but only one traumatized them to the point that to this day, they still haven't forgotten: the Trinity Killer from season 4. John Lithgow, his interpreter, is also the only actor to have won a Golden Globe with Michael C. Hall for his performance in Dexter. This is why the Showtime channel and Paramount+ have ordered a series that will tell the story of this human monster. Clyde Philips, the showrunner and co-writer of the first four seasons, will be the co-creator and executive producer of this highly anticipated spin-off. On the Deadline site, this Monday, December 21, he gave news of the project, which is still in development: “We wrote the entire series on Trinity while filming Original Sin. For the moment, it is on hold, but John Lithgow has agreed to be the narrator, in the same way that Michael C. Hall is the voice ofOriginal Sin”. The iconic actor of Arthur Mitchell aka the Trinity Killer will therefore indeed be there, but only through his voice, if we are to believe this first information.
