Maria del Rio and Olivier Arnould, emblematic hosts of Radio Contact, have swapped their presenter hats for those of singers. Together, they revisit the timeless classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. With a touch of madness and a lot of love, the duo offers an offbeat version that celebrates Christmas with panache.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mariah Carey’s cult hit, Maria del Rio and Olivier Arnould, aka “Maria del Carey” and “Olivier Bublé”, took on a daring challenge: reinterpret this legendary song… but in their own way! Helped by a vocal coach, who is none other than Olivier’s wife, they gave life to a hybrid version, mixing humor, authenticity and even a hint of Spanish. “We wanted to pay homage to this cult song, but in our own way. You should know that Olivier is a fan of Michael Bublé and it was he who introduced the team to the version by Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey”explains Maria.
Olivier, a big fan of Michael Bublé, recounts the genesis of the project: “I love the version where Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey sing together. It only happened once on a show in the United States, a Christmas show like they know how to do there with a big show, and I said to myself: why not try something of course, we are neither Michael Bublé nor Mariah Carey, but we could do it in our own way with our humor, our universe, that of Good Morning and try to share that with listeners.” To add their own personal touch, the duo included a partial Spanish rendition. “It brings a difference, a little surprise that makes the version unique”specifies Maria.
A clip that breathes the Christmas spirit
In addition to their musical cover, the duo filmed a warm and festive music video. The atmosphere? Twinkling trees, Christmas shopping and laughter.“We really wanted the clip to look like us”explains Olivier. “We see authentic scenes in real life conditions. For example, during the dinner scene, I toast with a beer, because that’s what I prefer.” He adds: “It’s also important for us that the whole team is brought together in the clip with Gary and Valentino to finally show us as we are during this holiday season, close to people, close to each other too.”
Maria adds: “The filming of the clip was a real one where we had fun. And the best reward was the hundreds of messages we received afterwards. People tell us that we are doing them good, that There’s this comforting side. It’s nice to say that during this time, we can bring a little bit of comfort.
Listeners won over
The exclusive broadcast of the song this Wednesday morning on Good Morning immediately won over listeners. “Frankly, we didn’t even expect such massive and positive instant feedback”enthuses Maria. “People understand that there is a sweet second degree, but they also appreciate to discover Olivier with a voice they didn’t know”.
Olivier also enjoys the compliments: “What comes up a lot is how much this version resembles us.”

Olivier, faithful to his idols, opts for classic: “Michael Bublé’s Christmas album remains a must-have. But I also love songs by Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande”.
