Elton John, a monument of British song who has not released an album since 2016, has just given some less than reassuring news about his state of health and in particular his eyesight.

« I lost my sight », announced Sir Elton John this Sunday, December 1, after a performance of the musical The Devil Wears Pradain London. Black suit, red shirt and sunglasses, the “Your Song” singer explains that he contracted an infection last July which left him blind in his right eye – he was already visually impaired in his left eye.
At 77 years old, the showman hopes to regain her sight, but has no guarantee, and relies largely on her husband, David Furnish, her “rock”, for the tasks of daily life. This Sunday, he was the one who helped him get off the stage. Elton John can no longer read or watch anything: “ I didn't see much of the show, but what I heard was great », he declared during a gala organized after the performance of the play The Devil Wears Pradaadaptation of the successful film of the same name by David Frankel, released in 2006.
His next album put on hold
At the beginning of September, Elton John revealed that he had caught an eye infection in his right eye during a vacation in the south of France, having “ left with limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it is an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the affected eye ».
