Diddy struggles to cope with the accusations.
He had received them less than a year ago.
Nothing is going well for Diddy. Following the broadcast of the video of the rapper hitting his ex-partner, Eric Adams, mayor of New York, allegedly asked him to return the keys to the city. According to information revealed by TMZAdams would have addressed two letters to the former boss of Bad Boys Records on June 4, reversing his decision made a little less than a year ago:
“Like many people, I was deeply disturbed by the recent video footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his then-partner. I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. The key to New York City is given to individuals whose service to the public and the common good reaches the highest level of achievement, and who act as a role model for others and future New Yorkers. After internal deliberations…I am calling on Mr. Combs to immediately return his key to the city to New York City Hall.”
The decision seems to have been accepted without any problem by Sean Combs, because the key was returned 6 days later by the artist. The video revealed by CNN, with incredible violence, shook the media sphere. On May 24, the singer Cassie, the rapper’s ex-wife, spoke out, thanking the public for their support, through a press release published on her social networks :
“Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet. Domestic violence is THE problem. It broke me into someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always recover from my past. J‘offer my hand to those who still live in fear. Reach out to your staff, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone. The healing journey never ends, but this support means everything to me. THANKS.”
