DECRYPTION – The new campaign which begins in Brussels for the head of the list promises to be tough, while the French liberals emerge weakened from the European elections.

Valérie Hayer, leader of a presidential majority crushed by the RN and closely followed by the PS on Sunday, is far from having finished with the elections. The one who is also the outgoing president of the Renew group in the European Parliament is campaigning to keep this position. Promoted to this position in January after the departure of Stéphane Séjourné from the Quai d’Orsay, the person concerned is a candidate for his succession. She announced it on Monday. The election is scheduled for June 26. She has less than two weeks to convince Renew MEPs to support her.
