Jean-Philippe Dion revealed on Thursday a previously unpublished extract of his meeting with singer Céline Dion, whom he met in Las Vegas, on the sidelines of the release of the documentary I am: Celine Dion.

In this segment of a few seconds, we see an emotional Celine Dion explaining that she first needed to understand what was happening to her before revealing to the whole world what she was experiencing behind closed doors.

“If I want to return to the stage, if I want to remain a mother, my children have already lost their father, I don’t want them to be afraid of losing their mother, I have to understand what is happening to me. It’s happening in my head, what’s happening,” she confided to the host and producer.

Celine Dion admitted at the beginning of the week in an interview with American journalist Hoda Kotb for the NBC network that she had known she had been ill for almost fifteen years. Although she didn’t necessarily have a clear diagnosis for her condition, she began experiencing symptoms of her neurological disorder in 2008, during the tour.
