Musical genius, seasoned lyricist, queen of marketing in the age of social media, feminist figure and entrepreneur: how can we explain the scale of Taylor Swift’s success? The American star will soon arrive in Toronto for six concerts. She will finish her world tour Eras in Vancouver in December.
The show On a human scale discusses the Taylor Swift phenomenon during a roundtable with admirers of the artist:
- Diane Pacom, sociologist and professor emeritus at the University of Ottawa;
- Catherine Guay, director at Ici Musique;
- Sofea Shabani, a sociology student at the University of Poitiers, who studies relationships between admirers and celebrities such as Taylor Swift;
- Matthew Jordan, course teaching assistant Taylor Swift and Her World about the artist at Harvard University;
- Sylvie Lamarche-Lacroix, resident of Timmins and mother of an admirer of the artist.
