Hippocampe Fou lives in the “Present”
Son of a Colombian guitarist and composer, Hippocampe Fou was immersed in classical and Latin American music from an early age. After studying cinema, during which he became passionate about the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Stanley Kubrick, he began his musical career within the 100% vocal trio La Secte Phonetik. Elected French-speaking rapper with the most diverse vocabulary in a study conducted by Rap Minerz, Hippocampe Fou heartily transmits his passion for words, through the writing workshops he has been leading for fifteen years, particularly in prison.
A forty-year-old father, “halfway between the cradle and the coffin”, Hippo is now a “Half-Old”, as announced in the first track of his new album, “Présent”. It is with melancholy and nostalgia that the musician and author approaches themes that are dear to him and makes the universal resonate in the intimate by immersing us in his family life, which he has invited into this new opus.

“Here” is therefore an intergenerational album ON and WITH one’s family, a deeply sincere and human work which encourages us to enjoy those we love before it is too late. A comforting album, written and composed in a period of mourning, from shock to acceptance. To cope with the absence, we stick together as a family while trying, despite everything, to savor the present moment.
And concert in Lille on 8/11, in La Rochelle on 9/11, at the Trianon on 14/03 and on tour.
Maïcee takes height in “Been high lately”
Hearing her perfect English accent, nothing suggests that the rapper Maïcee is actually from Montpellier. After proving her talents for writing, composition and diction in “I think my brain is weird”, the musician delivers a new EP, “Been high lately”, in which she continued to broaden her musical spectrum. His explorations bore fruit, with five pieces, still as rapped, a little sung, and even more carried by the dancing energy of electronic music. An EP between rap and club music, which aims to be both light and explosive, while also evoking in its lyrics self-confidence, friendly and romantic relationships, and ecology.

By continuing to make music that is her own, Maïcee finally shows on “Been High Lately…” the direction she wants to take in the future. A quest for asserted singularity, to find a sound of its own, between rapped verses, club influences, fun choruses and letting go. Enough to see the singer in her best light and her best mood for five tracks. Before, perhaps, discovering a darker side of it in a few months.
“Been high lately” of Maïcee, in concert in Grenoble on November 29th.
Pierre-Hugues José at “The Women’s School”
It’s a funny name he chose for himself, but he’s sure he’s the one and only to have it. The Vésulian Pierre-Hugues José, also known on the networks for his humorous shorts, had left research to devote himself to his passion, music. Since then, he describes himself as an “unemployed rapper”, and devotes his time to creating and sharing his music, while using social networks to promote his art and reach an ever-wider audience. An extraordinary trajectory, which combines intellectual rigor and artistic creativity.
