Mirepoix. The evolution of radio over time

This weekend again, it will be possible to admire the magnificent exhibition on the history of radio proposed by Vive la Science, which was the subject of an opening at the Paul Dardier room, in the presence of Xavier Caux, mayor of Mirepoix, Alain Toméo, president of the CCPM, Jean-Baptiste Morinaud, sub-prefect of Pamiers and Dominique Aimable, principal of the school complex.

Through the voice of René Baron, municipal councilor, the town says it is “proud to be home to an association which, through its conferences and educational tools, promotes science in our city…”

The president of the association Gérard Letraublon, a passionate engineer, presented the different stands, made up of panels illustrating the evolution of this formidable tool which, from its birth to the present day, has radically changed the way we communicate and consume information. information, from the famous galena station which could operate without batteries to the digital high-fidelity receiver.

Also on display are numerous old, precious and rare objects, which inevitably awaken nostalgic memories in visitors, such as the TSF station enthroned in the foyer, on a sideboard or a table, covered with a protective cloth or the famous transistor that we could listen to everywhere: outside, in the car, while working…

Of all the forms of listening to music in the contemporary era, radio has the privilege of being the oldest to vibrate our ears, day after day for more than 100 years! Remember that she also contributed to preserving the Eiffel Tower from destruction.
