The King, the Rose and the Lou[p]: “One of my greatest prides” – Lou-Adriane Cassidy

In Lou-Adriane Cassidy’s heart, there will always be a special place for the exhilarating adventure The King, the Rose and the Lou[p]this super trio that she formed with her friends Ariane Roy and Thierry Larose.

“It’s one of my greatest prides and among the most beautiful memories of my life,” she says.

By pooling their repertoires for a series of concerts that spanned more than a year – they notably played at the Francos de Montréal and at the Festival d’été de Québec – these three artists in their twenties, who count among the most promising and talented of their generation, have unanimously won over audiences and critics.

“We were blown away. They always say that there is strength in numbers and it is true. The love we received and the exchanges we had with people gave us the impression that we were doing something truly collective.”

However, we must talk about the King, the Rose and the Lou[p] in the past.

Everyone has returned to their solo projects and although the trio has released an eponymous original song, recording an album as a trio is not on the cards.

A comeback tour? “It’s my dream, but it’s not in the concrete plans either,” tempers Lou-Adriane Cassidy.

Ambitious

In the present moment, the 27-year-old singer-songwriter has something brand new of her own to present: Tell me, tell me, tell mefirst extract from Diary of a Werewolfalbum which will be released on January 24, 2025.

Embellished with sumptuous string arrangements, this remarkable song, which makes you want to dance while tackling a sensitive subject, the abandonment of your father as a teenager, took a year and a half to develop.

“One of my most ambitious so far,” confirms Lou-Adriane Cassidy, who dared to lift the veil on her family privacy for the first time. “It’s a subject that touches me a lot and that I never had the courage to tackle in a song,” she says.

Proud and dissatisfied

Diary of a Werewolf will be the third album of the one who made herself known, in 2017, with the song It’s okay it’s okay. She then recorded and released the albums It’s the end of the world every day (2019) et Lou-Adriane Cassidy says to you: Good evening (2021).

“I achieved my dreams at 21,” she says, analyzing the path taken. I wanted to make a living from my music and support an artist. I accompanied Hubert [Lenoir] and very young, I made a living from my music.”

Despite what she has just said, Lou-Adriane Cassidy is quick to point out that she is never “happy and always dissatisfied.”

“I think there are two sides to the coin,” she immediately qualifies again. When I look at it, I’m so grateful to have people listening to my songs, coming to my shows, singing and wanting to be better all the time. I feel very proud.”

  • The song Tell me, tell me, tell me is available October 4.
  • In concert at the Théâtre Capitole in Quebec and at the Beanfield Theater in Montreal, February 15 and 21, 2025.
