Thousands of Mustang fans gathered Sunday morning at the Trois-Rivières Exhibition Park to set a new record. Nearly 2,000 vehicles were on Avenue Gilles-Villeneuve, the previous record, dating from 2019, was 1,326 in Belgium.

Around 7 a.m., the first cars took the road towards Quebec City to reach the Videotron Center parking lot. The convoy was spread over a distance of 40 kilometers and planned to travel at an approximate speed of 85 km/h.

Alain Cayuela, the co-organizer of the event, explains that a gathering like this requires significant logistics with the Ministry of Transport, the municipal police, the Sûreté du Québec, the cities of Quebec and Trois-Rivières. The early departure time was also planned so as not to disrupt traffic.

It took the members of the organization a year to put everything in place.

Followers from far away

The distance did not scare Mustang enthusiasts who traveled from Outaouais, Gaspésie, New Brunswick, Ontario or even the United States to take part in the gathering.

This is an event that will not come back in our lives. We wanted to participate, be part of the recordunderlines one of the participants.

The president of the Mustang Club de France was also there. The Belgians made the record a few years ago, we also participated in itmentions Xavier Vrigny. This is the first time I’ve seen so many. We hold gatherings in France, but at this level I have never done so. They did something monumental!
