A big surprise awaited Mylène Farmer fans Friday evening during her concert at the Stade de . The singer brought singer Seal on stage to perform their 2001 duet with her The Words.

This is the first time that Mylène Farmer and Seal have sung this piece in concert. As Le Parisien recalls, this is a rare event: they had only sung their duet once before. It was in 2002, at the NRJ Music Awards.

Composed by Laurent Boutonnat, the producer of Mylène Farmer, The Words mixes lyrics in French and texts in English inspired by the poems of Emily Dickinson. The record sold 600,000 copies in France in 2001.

The biggest tour

Mylène Farmer will give another concert at the Stade de France this Saturday September 28 and a third on Tuesday October 1. With these three concerts, she closes her fourteen-stadium tour.

This tour, the largest stadium tour in the history of music in France, consists of an impressive show. For the occasion, a live album of the show was also unveiled this Friday, September 27.

Originally scheduled for 2023, Mylène Farmer’s concerts at the Stade de France were canceled, then postponed to September, due to riots linked to the death of Nahel, 17 year old boy killed by a police officer after refusing to comply in .
