“A’Salfo is our Father Diddy,” declared the Ivorian rapper Elow’n in his song “It’s okay (because) it’s Ivory Coast”released in 2021. A song in which he pays tribute to certain illustrious people whose success can be comparable to that of the megastars of the West.
Except that two years later, the same sentence in the ears of Internet users has another resonance, particularly linked to the controversy which is plaguing the life of rapper and American P. Diddy (currently incarcerated for sexual activities behind closed doors).
To put the points back on track, the singer A’Salfo wanted to provide details on the dedication made to him by the rapper Elow’n.
“P. Diddy of Koumassi and his good little one! One of the Ivorian artists who made me proud at FEMUA this year. Little one, we have to tell them to drink water eh???? »he continued ironically on his Facebook page.
Before adding: “For those who are not aware of the context of this post, this is a tongue-in-cheek response rather than information.
It is far from my intention to associate my image with a person who engages in practices contrary to our cultural and spiritual values, and who tramples on everything related to human dignity.
So, no confusion. This is simply to be ironic in relation to the re-promotion of an old post dating back two years, written by Elow’n, which said, I quote: “It’s because it’s the Ivory Coast, otherwise A’Salfo is our Father Diddy.”
A few days before his concert scheduled for November 17 at the Palais de la Culture, certain ill-intentioned people wanted to divert these remarks from their context by linking them to the hip hop star’s recent troubles with the American justice system.
It is in this context that I am publishing this message, in order to support Elow’n and to let her know that these malicious allegations will in no way affect our relations.
