The dramatic consequences of this “impulse” are known thanks to the results of the procedure carried out by the Mont-de-Marsan public prosecutor’s office and revealed yesterday by the public prosecutor, Olivier Janson. Like her companion, Soraya Miranda has always wanted to stay “in the shadows”. But Kendji Girac’s gunshot wound propelled her into the spotlight, revealing very intimate parts of her life.

Originally from Switzerland, she does not come from the gypsy community
Kendji Girac and his partner Soraya Miranda have been a couple since 2014. They met in Switzerland, the year the 27-year-old singer won “The Voice”. The two young people met in a restaurant and, according to the prosecutor’s statements, “never left each other” from then on.
For six years, the lovers lived a long-distance relationship. In 2020, the young woman joined the singer in the Paris region to live alongside him. A year later, they became the parents of a little girl named Eva Alba. At the time, Kendji Girac refused to reveal the identity of his partner, respecting his desire for discretion. During an interview with Radio Monaco in 2022, the singer reiterated his partner’s desire not to appear in the media. “She doesn’t want to put herself forward. It’s her choice. I tend to agree with her.” Kendji Girac admitted that it was also her way of dealing with “something complicated: being the wife of a singer who has always left.”
On his social networks, the young dad “crazy about his daughter” posted a few photos of the child, always from behind. The face of his partner has never been revealed. Soraya Miranda is not from the gypsy community. She is originally from Switzerland, where her family still lives. She visits the country very regularly, “every month”, according to prosecutor Olivier Janson.
Difficult integration within Kendji Girac’s family
According to the public prosecutor, Soraya Miranda mentioned during her hearing that her union with Kendji Girac had “aroused little enthusiasm” from their respective families. Indeed, the young woman is not part of the Traveler community, and would have a “feminist side” which would deeply annoy her in-laws.
Tensions within the couple
The respective hearings of the two spouses show that tensions existed within the couple. Soraya Miranda has spoken out about Kendji Girac’s “burgeoning addiction” to alcohol. Following the day and evening of April 21 and 22, 2024, the young mother threatened her partner to leave him in the face of the latter’s drunken state.

The investigation into “attempted voluntary homicide” was closed by the prosecution. Soraya Miranda’s responsibility has never been mentioned. During his hearing, Kendji Girac said he “regretted his action” and described his partner as “the woman of his life”.
