Authors

Jacques Soignon is a master of science in ecology at the University of Rennes and an engineer from the National School of Horticulture (ENSH) in Versailles. Director of the Green Spaces Department of the city of Nantes (SEVE) from 2001 to 2020, he helped the metropolis acquire international recognition on the theme of landscape, horticulture and urban ecology. He is today vice-president of the Conservatory of Specialized Plant Collections (CCVS).
Philippe Férard revealed his vocation from a very young age in the shade of Norman pear trees. After horticultural and university studies, he became a botanist at the Jardin des Plantes de Nantes, then directed the municipal botany course, organized numerous botanical courses (Society of Natural Sciences of the West of France, SSNOF, Botanica-Nantes association, etc.). ) He is also the editor of numerous articles devoted to regional flora.
Preface it Francis Hallé is a French botanist, biologist and dendrologist. A doctor in biology and botany, he was first a university professor of botany. He then specialized in the ecology of tropical rainforests, settling in tropical regions to study primary forests, in Ivory Coast, Congo, Zaire and Indonesia. He is a great defender of primary forests, never exploited by man, today representing 5 to 10% of terrestrial forests and three quarters of the planet’s biodiversity reserves.
