The year 2024 was complicated for the Chaumont All-Terrain Bike (VTTC) in terms of their events. The members of the office explained that they were thinking about changing their organization during the general assembly, Friday, January 17 in the Robert-Genest room.
Friday January 17, Vélo tout-terrain chaumontais (VTTC) invited its members to an elective general meeting. It took place at the Robert-Genest room. No less than fifty members came to attend. Created in 2008, the association has 117 members, including 56 minors.
President Philippe Laroche took stock of the past year: “2024 was more than mixed”. Participation in the demonstrations was lower than in other years. “On April 7, 489 people (mountain bikers and walkers) participated in the Singles du Treix. Scheduled for September, the 6 hours of the VTTC were canceled due to the lack of participants. Concerning the Fireflies of the Viaduc, the route has been modified at the request of the National Forestry Office. We recorded 438 registrants. We went up to 700 in 2022. These different declines in participation raise questions. »
The president of the VTTC notably discussed the possibility of introducing gravel to the Singles du Treix. This is a type of hybrid bike intended for riding on rocky roads, combining characteristics of road and off-road bikes. Philippe Laroche underlined the important work provided by volunteers during the various events. “Despite its declining numbers, the club is very much alive. »
The financial results are negative. “For the year 2024, we have a deficit of €3,546.96. This result is due to the drop in participation in our various meetings. To give a figure, the 6 hours of VTTC represent €500 in profits. However, an investment in equipment for the event also explains this result. We made this decision in order to no longer be dependent on others,” explains Florent Mariotte, resigning treasurer.
Cycling: projects for 2025
After the financial report, it's time for 2025 projects. “First of all, we have the return of the three flagship events: Singles du Treix on April 6, the 6 a.m. of the VTTC (date to be validated) and the Lucioles du Viaduc (October 19). ). Also on the program, an introductory course for young people and advanced training for adults, Roc d'Azur “all together” or even the use of the Bois des Barres as a permanent circuit,” indicates the president.
-The VTTC is wondering about a change of federation: French cycling federation to French cycling touring federation. A member asks for the reasons for a potential changeover. Philippe Laroche responds: “The cost of joining the organization to which you belong is increasingly high. Licenses too. Each organization must pay €350. We do few competitions. Joining this federation seems less justified to us.”
For 2025, the association's budget is €29,500, including €1,600 in subsidies from the City and 550 from the Department. Following reading the forecast budget, a member questioned the office regarding the cost of the Singles du Treix (€5,500) which seemed enormous in comparison to other events. Florent Mariotte explains: “We carry over the budget for an event from one year to the next. Which explains this cost. Remember that we did not have the village hall. We had to rent two barnums. We prefer to plan broadly.”
After reading the budget and answering various questions, it's time for elections for a new office. Seven members applied. They were all elected. The composition of the office is as follows: Philippe Laroche as president, Linda Stiak as secretary, Didier Delattre as treasurer, Raphaël Brizion as vice-treasurer, Christophe Mathieu in charge of competitions and organization, Thierry Nolson in charge of outfits and Alexandre Vittoni.
