Friday January 17, 2025Guillaume Derolez, founder and director of Valineo, welcomed Bertrand Sorredeputy for Manche and Stéphane Lelièvremayor of Barenton (Manche) to provide an update on the company's activity. Initially specializing in the recovery of copper taken from cables, the company then opened a plastic industry with the manufacturing of floor tiles 100% recycled.
“From the sections of electrical cables that we recover, we manufacture copper shot and floor tiles with the plastic from the sheaths,” explains Guillaume Derolez. He created the Valisol brand in 2022 and offers a wide choice of tilesintended for multiple uses (construction, events, parking, individuals, etc.)
Growing demand
The company is today buoyed by good momentum and plans to launch a second crusher to increase its production. “For 2025, we will be at maximum production capacity. Our slab activity has notably enabled us to absorb the rise in energy costs,” indicates the business manager.
We have a very dynamic equestrian activity, Normandy being an ideal region for this market, with its numerous stud farms.

“Our products are robust, with a good lifespan. We operate in the region, most recently in Isigny-le-Buat, Avranches and Granville. We also work with small local businesses,” he adds.
An alternative to land artificialization
The honeycomb floor tiles offered by Valineo make it possible to maintain soil permeability and can, among other things, be used in the development of green car parks or driveways. Bertrand Sorre, MP for Manche, emphasizes that, due to the high rainfall in the region, the use of floor slabs will probably grow in the years to come.
We must convince elected officials to green their communities.
In addition to recycling and production, the company ensures its own distribution (sales and delivery) in order to control costs and better cope with a intense European competition. An innovative and ecological company, Valineo is also a major employer of the town with around fifteen people working for the company. “There is a workforce that corresponds to our territory, they are locals. Jobs are accessible,” adds Stéphane Lelièvre, mayor of Barenton.
