InSimo and VirtaMed strengthen their partnership with the launch of a module dedicated to suturing on the new RoboS™ surgical robotics simulator
The Strasbourg company InSimo, specialized in the development of high-fidelity simulation software for medical and surgical training, and VirtaMed AG, world leader in the development and production of highly realistic surgery simulators for medical education, are proud to announce the renewal of their partnership to offer cutting-edge simulation exercises aimed at raising the standards of robotic surgery training.
Precise and ultra-realistic learning
The benefits of robotic surgery are numerous: control of the precision of complex gestures, improved visualization, less invasive procedures, and even shorter hospitalizations and faster convalescences. Thanks to technological developments, robotic surgery is becoming more and more accessible and is now establishing itself as an essential alternative for complex surgeries. However, supporting healthcare professionals in the technical mastery of robotic surgery presents particular challenges that require specialized training.
VirtaMed’s new RoboS™ robotic surgery simulator faithfully reproduces a robotic surgery console. It provides a controlled, risk-free training environment to enable surgeons to gain the essential skills and confidence to perform these procedures.
This simulator completes the range of VirtaMed simulators already adopted by many medical training organizations around the world for their students. Their benefits are obvious in improving the quality of practice and patient care.
High-fidelity virtual suture simulation: a real technical challenge!
Robotic surgery training typically begins with learning fundamental skills, including suturing. Reproducing the realism of suturing in a virtual simulation represents a technical challenge. Whether manipulating needles through tissue, tying knots or closing wounds, digital models often struggle to accurately reproduce the intricacies of this fundamental surgical procedure, despite its critical importance in any surgical procedure.
InSimo’s cutting-edge technology combined with VirtaMed’s new RoboS™ simulator
Through many years of research and development, InSimo has developed a highly advanced interactive surgical suture simulation model, which incorporates realistic suture behavior dynamics and precise control of their manipulation. InSimo’s technology pushes current boundaries to deliver ultra-realistic suture simulation that sets it apart from anything currently available on the market.
The partnership with VirtaMed promotes the dissemination of this cutting-edge technology through a set of essential and advanced suturing exercises available worldwide, integrated into the new RoboS™ simulator.
This collaboration, which began in 2022, has already resulted in the delivery of two simulation modules which have been integrated into the LaparoS™ laparoscopic surgery simulator.
28 exercises for high-quality training
First demonstration of RoboS™ during the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH 2025). Test RoboS™ from January 10 to 14, 2025 at the ISMH conference in Orlando, Florida, booth (#347).
The International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) is a leading global scientific conference that explores the latest innovations and best practices in healthcare simulation.
