Wallace and Gromit in pursuit of the blue diamond

“Pirates, good for nothing, bad in everything” the other creation from Aardman studios

Imprisoned since the famous Blue Diamond affair, the fierce penguin Feathers McGraw broods over his revenge against Wallace and Gromit, responsible for his arrest. He also continues to dream of getting his hands back on the famous blue diamond that he had stolen. As for Commissioner Mackintosh, he is about to retire. All that remains is to secure the exhibition dedicated to the famous jewel found.

Wallace and Gromit face the famous Feathers McGraw in “The Palm of Vengeance”, the new film by Nick Park.

The great return of the duo of inventors

It’s been almost twenty years since Aardman Studios last released a feature film featuring their iconic heroes, Wallace and Gromit. In 2022, the news of the start of production of a new film spread like wildfire, causing enthusiasm to live up to the expectations… considerable. It must be said that the zany inventor in the green tank top, a big cheese lover, and the beagle with the eloquent look have won over, since their very first appearance in 1989, an audience of real enthusiasts of modeling clay animation.

In four short films (A Grand Day out 1989, The Wrong trousers 1993, A Close shave 1995 et A Matter of Loaf and death 2008) and two long ones (Chicken Run 2000, The Were-Rabbit Race 2005), some also believe that the duo has contributed more to popularizing the imagination and the British territory than many appointed ambassadors. This Palm of Vengeance – title of their new large format adventure – therefore seems to have been acquired from the outset.

Bristol, the bustling bastion of Aardman studios

Liking to stuff his films with diverted literary references (in the titles of novels that Gromit reads or the names of companies and people he meets), creator Nick Park describes his new film as an example of Black Gnome. With its ultra-referenced universe (between Rockyheist and gangster films), this ingenious and disheveled adventure will appeal to longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Featuring the voices of Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay, Reece Shearsmith and Lauren Patel, among others.
