This Friday, December 27, Prime Video unveils the second part of the saga Against the grainalways worn by Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara. While we’ve been waiting for it for a year and a half, what is the film worth? Tele-Leisure saw it and gives you his opinion.
Among the films released in 2023 on Prime Video, few were as successful as Against the grain. The Spanish feature film, titled My fault in original version, defied all odds to become the largest non-English language original film in the history of the Amazon platform. 75% of its audience comes from countries other than the one it comes from, Spain. Remained in the top of the most viewed programs on the streaming platform for months, it was even still present in the ranking of the most popular films in the world a year after its release. An unprecedented success for this film adapted from a trilogy written by Mercedes Ron. Announced in July 2023, Against the grain 2 is finally available on the platform this December 27, 2024.
Against the grain 2 : Noah and Nick face new obstacles
This second film opens a year after the end of the first part, and the death of Noah’s father. After months away from Noah, Nick is back by her side as she prepares to start college. But their parents still have a bad view of their relationship and will put obstacles in their way. Add to this the return of Nick’s mother, and Noah’s new roommate who seems to be hiding some secrets from him…
Against the grain 2 : a grand finale that makes you want to see what happens next
After the time of the first rapprochements – and the exaltation that goes with it – Nick and Noah experience an eventful relationship in this second part of the saga Against the grain. Like their love story, the film is made of ups and downs, but does not lack spice! Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara, the interpreters of Noah and Nick, are omnipresent on the screen, to our greatest happiness. If the film tries to integrate a few subplots, they do not take precedence over the main couple. After a rather calm and hardly surprising first part, the action accelerates in the second half to offer us a chain of events whose outcome we saw coming, but which risks breaking the hearts of part of the public . Even if the twists and turns are not the most surprising, they will satisfy those who have seen the first part over and over again. The end of the film leaves us with only one desire: to see the sequel! And it’s not by chance: a third film Against the grain has already been announced and even filmed. The release date is not known at this time.
