The third season of What If…? presents the return of the Eternals and insults them in the worst way
The third season of What If…? has made fun of the Eternals with its second episode
The recently released third season of the series What If…? has presented in its second episode the return of the Eternals to the franchise, however, this episode exposes events that, although they put the focus back on them, puts them in an unfavorable situation and significantly minimizes them.
And, in this episode we see how Kingo Sunen initially confronts Agatha Harkness and later ends up allying with her to prevent Arishem from destroying the planet. However, the situation turns dark when Agatha reveals to Kingo that she has defeated the rest of the Eternals off-screen and has stolen their powers, something that, in addition to being quite difficult to believe, seems to be a mockery of this group of heroes.
Agatha Harkness after stealing the powers of the Eternals
The fact that it implies the idea that a sorceress whose power level is not really high and has never been portrayed as an extremely powerful character can beating the Eternals is extremely unrealistic and far-fetchedconsidering that these have been established as supreme beings with impressive powers in both the comics and the MCU.
Although this episode simply presents a hypothetical situation, It is still somewhat humiliating for the Eternals to be demoted in such a way, and even more so considering that this has been his first official appearance in quite some time. For now, fans will have to wait to find out if the Eternals will appear in the MCU soon, and if the franchise manages to do them justice after having insulted them in this way in What If…?.
