Was Mylène Farmer invited to sing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games? A question that has long intrigued her fans, disappointed not to see her participate in this global event. Recently, Thomas Jolly, the director of the ceremony, revealed that the singer had indeed been invited, but that a simple conflict of agenda had prevented her presence.

In a documentary broadcast on the official website of the Olympic Games, Thomas Jolly confided: “My great French singer was Mylène Farmer. But she was not available. There you go… So she told me no.” The director, however, did not hide his disappointment and wanted to pay a subtle tribute to the artist. A 1991 remix of his hit “Désenchantée” was included in a dance chart, a way of saluting his talent and musical influence.

For Mylène Farmer, the year 2024 was marked by intense artistic activity. The singer resumed her “Nevermore” tour with three exceptional concerts at the Stade de . His concert film attracted more than 214,000 spectators to cinemas, followed by the release of a live album and a DVD/Blu-ray. On the cinema side, she lent her voice to the documentary “Bambi, the story of a life in the woods” by Michel Fessler and starred in “Dalloway”, a film directed by Yann Gozlan with Cécile de France and Anna Mouglalis, planned for 2025.

This busy year left little room for participation in the Olympic Games, a commitment that required demanding rehearsals and considerable investment.
