This film takes us to the heart of a breathtaking adventure, where the tumultuous waves become the mirror of the inner struggles of the protagonists.

Gail Hartman, a former river guide in search of tranquility, decides to offer her son Roarke a peaceful canoe trip for his birthday. Her husband Tom, an architect and unenthusiastic, joins them, reflecting the latent tensions in their relationship. Their journey takes an unexpected turn when they meet Wade and Terry, two men as charismatic as they are enigmatic. Under an air of urgency, they ask for Gail's help in navigating a perilous section of the river. Quickly, the Hartman family found themselves hostage to these fugitives, embarked against their will in a frantic race towards the Canadian border.

Released in 1994, The Wild River (1994)worn by Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon, is about to be rediscovered in noble conditions after celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. American publisher Kino Lorber has confirmed the upcoming arrival of the film in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, a first for this film.

Although the release date remains to be specified, a new scan of the original 35mm negatives has been carried out, with the result being a new 4K Dolby Vision master. An edition to follow very closely for home cinema buffs and lovers of the great outdoors!
