In 2018, after phenomenal success in bookstores and at the global box office, the “Fifty Shades” series came to an end in cinemas. The third film, 50 Shades Freed, generated nearly $371,909,449 at the box office across the globe, a good score which still makes it the worst start of the entire franchise. If the saga retracing the erotic romance between Anastasia Steel and Christian Gray ended in the seventh art, new books have since been released in bookstores: in 2015, EL James released Grey, a new version of the first volume of “50 Shades… “, this time from the male protagonist's point of view. A sequel will be released in 2017, while a third work is planned.

It is therefore not incongruous to hope for a film adaptation of Gray and its second volume, Darker. But if it is possible to tell the same story from different points of view in a novel, the task is more difficult for films. The idea is not on the agenda, confirmed Jamie Dornan, who plays the millionaire on screen: “I don't think it's possible, he explained during an interview on the Lorraine show in 2018. I mean, there's no new book: Erika (L. James) wrote the first two books from Christian's point of view, but I think we has already seen them, We've already made these films, the story is the same, so I don't think there will be a new film Unless Erika writes a sequel. But Dakota and I, especially me, are becoming. too old for all that.” Fans of 50 Shades of Gray will have to make up their minds and enjoy the broadcasts of the erotic saga.

Synopsis – Journalist Anastasia Steele and billionaire Christian Gray could finally have the right to happiness after their marriage. The two lovers go on a honeymoon on the Côte d'Azur. But their relationship is in danger since Anastasia's former editor-in-chief is pursuing her for revenge.
