Critique Drama comedy by Jennifer Devoldère, with José Garcia, Joachim Arseguel, Aure Atika (France, 1h33). In theaters November 20 ★★★☆☆
A stuttering high school student living with his mother (Aure Atika, always impeccable) decides to play the title role of “Cyrano de Bergerac”. In this challenge, he is supported by a rebellious professor teaching in a necessarily rigid Catholic establishment. Let’s be frank: it’s the very archetype of the summary which, on paper, is scary. However, the assumed mix between “the Circle of Dead Poets” and “Billy Elliot” pleasantly surprises thanks to the fluid staging of the author of “Sage-homme”. His gaze without insistence hits the mark, especially when it falls on his actors, the promising Joachim Arseguel, as well as José Garcia, excellent as a fallible and committed teacher.
