While the broadcast of The Acolyte is still in progress, this actor discusses the future of another Star Wars series: Andor! According to him, season 2 will welcome more characters known to the public.

Considered by many to be the best Star Wars series to date, Andor was unanimously acclaimed when it was released in 2022 on Disney +. It is a prequel to Star Wars Rogue One, a film which tells the story of the group of Rebels who managed to steal the plans for the Death Star (and without whom it would never have been destroyed in the episode 4 A New Hope). In short, a rather important part of the George Lucas universe – where Cassian Andor, main character played by Diego Luna, occupies a central place… The actor recently revealed new information on season 2 of Andor.

Well-known faces

It was during the ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024 that Luna spoke on the subject. According to him, the closer the events of Rogue One come, the more characters from the film will be in the series. “I can tell you (…) there will be cool things” on that side, admits the actor. The conclusion of Andor season 2 will lead directly to the events of the feature film! So, obviously, the second part of the series will also be the last… Its release is expected at the beginning of next year, production having been delayed by the writers’ and actors’ strike.

A very special season

In the same interview, Diego Luna continues: “For those who love Rogue One, this season 2 will be very special (…) After watching this second season, you will see Rogue One in a different way”, promises the actor. Words that make your mouth water. Subsequently, Cassian’s interpreter also indicates that the complex intrigues of the first part will be resolved in this sequel. “Every story is important,” says Luna… In the meantime, despite less laudatory ratings, the broadcast of the series Star Wars: The Acolyte continues its course on Disney +, with one episode each week.
