The first trailer for the series Dune: Prophecy was revealed, and gives good hope for the spin-off of Denis Villeneuve’s saga.

After the enormous success of Dune: Part Two and the announcement of Dune 3, the franchise inspired by the books of Frank Herbert is perhaps on the verge of becoming one of the big SF attractions of the coming years, and that is not to displease us. Mythology Dune has thus expanded more and more with the various films of Denis Villeneuve, and It is now on the series side that Warner hopes to develop its science fiction universe.

Dune: Prophecy, that is its name, will therefore aim to enrich the saga and immerse us even more in its history and its foundations. And in fact, the first trailer for the series has just been revealed.

Dune Prophecy, the origins of the Bene Gesserit

What is certain is that showrunner Alison Schapker was inspired by Villeneuve’s work to prepare Prophecy, And that’s good. We thus find an aesthetic very similar to the filmmaker’s films in the visuals of this series created by Diane Ademu-John, which will deal with the conception of the legendary sect of the Bene Gesserit by the Harkonnen sisters 10,000 years before the epic of Paul Atreides. Yes, you might not understand much if you haven’t seen Dune 1 And 2Villeneuve having taken long hours (especially in the first) to establish the different rules and characteristics of Herbert’s universe.

Dune: Prophecy is inspired by the 2012 novel The Community of Sisters by Kevin J. Anderson and Brian Herbert, the son of Franck Herbert, and will surely teach us more about the shenanigans of the Bene Gesserit to interfere in the corridors of power and slowly take control of the destiny of all people in the galaxy.

Neither Paul nor Lady Jessica

To interpret the different characters, we will find in particular Emily Watson, Indira Varma and Mark Strong. Tabu Indian actress and star The End Of The F***ing World Jessica Barden also joined the cast earlier this week.

No specific release date has yet been given, but according to the trailer, Dune: Prophecy will land on Max during fall 2024. So we’ll have to wait a little longer, but we can console ourselves by saying that it will be epic… and spicy.
