Goodbye up there

What is it about : Of two survivors of the First World War abandoned by France who decide to set up a war memorial scam.
Why should you watch it? Because we can consider Goodbye up there as one of Albert Dupontel’s best films, if not the best. However, this is the first time that this exceptional filmmaker has tried his hand at adapting, that of the eponymous novel by Pierre Lemaitre which won a Goncourt in 2013. Obviously, the meeting of the two could only pull this tragicomic story towards summits.
To the heartbreaking story of Lemaitre, who points out the failings of society regarding its fighters, Dupontel brings its technical know-how while enhancing the bittersweet nature of the story and its character. At the same time, everything was there: the thwarted father-son relationship, the protagonists who move forward with broken legs, the bitter social observation and the burlesque touches scattered here and there.
The rebellious shadow

What is it about? Codename 13, a 17-year-old assassin, is suspended following a botched mission in Japan. She meets Monji, 11 years old, who lost his mother, and who wants to go to her rescue.
Why should you watch it? Because it’s the new film by Timo Tjahjanto, former member of the Mo Brothers (Macabre, Killers and several anthology segments) having specialized in post-The Raidhemoglobin overdose option. Outside intrigues therefore necessarily on principle, especially since it is written and directed by Carlo Ledesmanoticed in 2011 with the found footage horror film The Tunnel (about a team of journalists who investigate abandoned train tunnels).
