Thor was a bit useless within the Avengers and it’s Chris Hemsworth who says so

Chris Hemsworth recently opened up about his role as Thor in the Marvel Universe, and he doesn’t seem too happy with his treatment.

Chris Hemsworth will be part of George Miller’s next feature film, Furiosa: A Mad Max saga, and we can’t wait to see him play the warlord Dementus. After Marvel and the films Thorthe actor thus proves that he is truly not just the man of a role, and that we can undoubtedly count on him as a headlining major productions in the years to come.

And while we already know that a completely crazy 15-minute scene will be in the final cut of Furiosa, Chris Hemsworth recently returned to his character of Thor in the MCU. And iHe doesn’t seem very happy with the importance of his Thor in the Avengerseven a little jealous of the rest of the characters.

“I’m not just blonde highlights and a hammer okay?!”

Chris Hemsworth, Thor Kills

It’s in a long interview for Vanity Fair that the Australian actor returned to his participation in the various MCU projects as Thor, particularly in relation to the films Avengers :

“Sometimes I felt like a security guard for the team. I was reading everyone’s lines and I was like, “Oh, they have way cooler stuff. They’re having more fun. What’s my character doing?” It was always, “You’ve got the wig on, you’ve got the muscles, you’ve got the costume, where’s the lightning bolt?” Yes, I’m part of this big project, but I’m probably pretty replaceable. »

Robert Downey Jr, friend of Chris Hemsworth and actor of Iron Man in the Marvel films, himself responded to the Australian:

“First of all, Thor as a character was very difficult to adapt – a lot of implicit limitations – but he and Ken Branagh [le réalisateur du premier Thor] have figured out how to transcend it, make it somehow accessible, yet divine. Hemsworth embodies, in my opinion, one of the most complex psychologies of all the Avengers. He has wit and seriousness, but also such restraint, fire and gentleness. »

If RDJ’s comments are a bit vague, we must still keep in mind that Hemsworth’s character has been entitled to four solo films in the MCU, more than all the other superheroes in the franchise. On the other hand, the Australian actor’s returns certainly don’t come out of nowhere and can perhaps find their Source in some internal conflicts during the filming of the Avengers. Either way, Chris Hemsworth will be starring in Furiosa: A Mad Max saga which will arrive in our theaters on May 22, 2024.
