After running at full speed through the streets of London, Tom Cruise is in Paris for the filming of Mission: Impossible 8. An Internet user posted on his Instagram account a video of the actor filming on Avenue Carnot, near the Champs Elysées .

We see the 61-year-old actor driving a motorcycle on which is hung a large white flag with the Arc de Triomphe at the back.

Other photos show Tom Cruise on the Bir Hakeim Bridge. The account Tom Cruise News Fan Twitter also notes that the actor is dressed in the same way as in the promotional video for Mission: Impossible 7 which was unveiled during ComicCon 2022 and the video of the actor’s free fall from a plane piloted by Christopher McQuarrie to celebrate the success of Top Gun: Maverick. Will these aerial sequences be found in Mission: Impossible 8 ?

Ethan Hunt and Paris: a love story

This is not the first time that a film in the franchise has been filmed in Paris since the very first Mission: Impossible part released in 1996 included a few scenes filmed in the French capital. More recently, Mission: Impossible – Fallout also chose Paris as its backdrop, with an epic chase scene. Following the attacks of 2015, director Christopher McQuarrie wanted to make Paris one of the settings for Fallout in order to pay tribute to the city and its police officers.

Direct continuation of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, MI8 promises us new frantic chases. Ethan Hunt takes on a different look here from that of Dead Reckoning since his clean haircut and 3-piece suit have given way to beige pants, a leather jacket and mid-length hair.

The story of Mission: Impossible 8 is still unknown but regarding a second part we know that it will be a question of finding what the key opens: the Source code of the Entity, buried with the submarine which transports it.

With a budget of $291 million, Dead Reckoning Part 1 grossed 567 million greenbacks at the international box office, which is less than what the studio hoped for. Will the second part, soberly renamed Mission: Impossible 8, do better? Response from May 21, 2025.
