Spanish rider Alex Rins, who joined Yamaha this year, has spoken out about the upcoming race in Barcelona, an event marked by solidarity with the victims of the floods in Spain. Rins stressed the importance of supporting affected communities and praised the unity of the MotoGP paddock.
As the final Grand Prix of the 2024 season approaches in Barcelona, Alex Rins is resolutely motivated to end the year on a positive note. An event all the more special as this GP Motul Solidarité of
Barcelona comes after the terrible floods which hit the region of Valenceand the Spaniard does not fail to pay tribute to those who suffered. Many members of the paddock, from the most affected areas, feel this need for solidarity, and
Rins makes it a priority.
He explained: “ I am ready for the last Grand Prix of the season, which will be very special. We race on our national circuit with Valencia in our heart. The MotoGP paddock is a close-knit community, many from the most devastated areas. It seems normal that as a paddock, we do our part and try to lighten the burden a little through running and solidarity. »
Regarding its 2024 season, Rins made no secret that the year had been full of ups and downs, marked by injuries and additional challenges. However, he highlighted the positive aspects of this difficult season: “ It's been a year of ups and downs, too. affected by my injury and some additional obstacles. In general, however, we worked well and hard, in fact,
the M1 showed improvements during the Malaysian Grand Prix. My adaptation process turned out to be very good.
I'm happy with growth, not so much with results. »

Rins particularly noted the progress made in Malaysia, in particular with improvements made to the electronics and chassis of the Yamaha M1 : « the step taken at Sepang was visible.
Advanced electronics help, as does the new chassis, despite some mid-season confusions. There was a lot of material, but now we found a valid line. »
The Spanish driver is also delighted with the arrival of new contributions within his team, such as those of
Miguel Oliveira,
Jack Miller and adding the team
Pramac of Ducati. He hopes that this collective work will benefit its development in 2025: “
