The calendar for the 2025 MotoGP season is starting to take shape. While the provisional list of meetings that will be on the programme for this tour has not yet been announced, many circuits have renewed their contracts to host the discipline in recent months.
On the sidelines of the Indonesian Grand Prix, it is the Portimao circuit which has formalized its agreement to host MotoGP until 2026.
In addition to the six Grand Prix that have taken place there so far, two more dates will be added. The first, in 2025, has not yet been announced.
“It is a great pride to be able to continue to organize a round of MotoGP at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, says Jaime Costa, general manager of the circuit. It is a witness to the recognition of our efforts and our work, which has been going on since 2020. We are already working on the 2025 GP. It will once again be a unique event in Portugal.
A completely redesigned 2025 MotoGP calendar
As a reminder, the 2025 season is expected to feature a completely revamped calendar. We already know that the British Grand Prix will be held in May. The return of the Hungarian Grand Prix has been announced for August.
While the Qatari one will not be able to organize the kick-off of the campaign – a role that was entrusted to the Thailand GP – and must, therefore, still confirm its dates. Just like the event that will be added to the discipline’s tour in the Czech Republic.
