“I will call Medhi Benatia”: Patrice Evra suggests Paul Pogba to join OM

In his debut appearance on “Rothen s’enflamme” on RMC, Patrice Evra discussed the situation of Paul Pogba, whose doping suspension has been reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). According to the former captain of the French national team, the 2018 World Cup champion has no future at Juventus. However, a move to Olympique de (OM) cannot be ruled out, according to him.

It’s a sigh of relief for Paul Pogba. The 2018 French World Cup champion, previously suspended for four years for doping, has seen his ban reduced to 18 months and is set to return to competitive action in March next year, as announced by a spokesperson for the CAS on Friday.

“I’m not surprised,” Evra reacted passionately during his debut on the show, which aired on RMC, on Friday. “I was with Paul just three weeks ago. He was very confident. The initial punishment was harsh. They wanted to set an example. Justice has been served. Paul is like a little brother to me, someone I adore. He will be back on the field and able to train again.”

Train, yes, but with which club? Paul Pogba is under contract with Juventus until 2026. However, it is far from certain that the 31-year-old Midfielder will continue his career with the Old Lady. “I don’t think there’ll be continuity with Juve,” Evra confirmed, suggesting another option for his friend: “He wants to play football, wherever it may be, for instance, why not OM? I will call Medhi Benatia and tell him the door is open,” the ex-captain of the Blues said with a laugh, convinced that Pogba will return to the pitch with an enormous appetite: “He has an incredible hunger! It’s a Pogba with a desire to succeed who will come back. He has missed football immensely. For him, watching matches, including those of the French national team… he was devastated. I tried to talk to him to bring back his smile because inside he was broken.” A sad chapter that will soon belong to the past.
