The Asturian coach, Luis Enrique, continues to deliver remarkable moments in his documentary series.

In the second episode of the documentary ‘You Don’t Have a Clue’ (Movistar Plus+), we witness a particular moment where the head coach of Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, addresses Kylian Mbappé ahead of the return leg against FC Barcelona in last season’s Champions League.

In the footage, the coach stands in front of a screen where he has conducted scouting and analysis of the Catalan club, with the French forward listening attentively to his words.

As part of a strategy to ignite passion and motivation in the current Real Madrid player, Luis Enrique used NBA legend Michael Jordan as an example, one of the greatest athletes in history. However, this time, the Asturian aimed to highlight the sacrifice and mentality of the player, as well as his leadership skills with the Chicago Bulls.

Through this comparison, the coach urged Mbappé to defend more and commit further to the team, particularly if he couldn’t contribute with goals. With highly expressive language, he sought to motivate the Frenchman: “I’ve heard you like Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan would grab his teammates by the b****s and defend like a son of a b****!”

After this, the coach asked him to be a leader and set an example for the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain squad, including players like Dembélé, Barcola, Asensio, and Kolo Muani. Furthermore, Luis Enrique acknowledged the talent and level of the French player: “You are a phenomenon, a top world player, without a doubt,” but the Spanish coach has always made it clear that this alone isn’t enough to be the best.

Despite the frequent benchings of the Frenchman in his last season with Paris Saint-Germain, the footage shows that there was always a positive and respectful relationship between player and coach: “I want you to leave here through the big door.” Ultimately, the conversation concluded with a forward who was convinced of his role and ended up being decisive in Montjuïc.
