CHRONIC – Every week, for The Figaroour columnist takes an ironic look at current events. Today, he imagines ten measures that the Barnier government could implement as a sign of openness to the left.

1. The fight against the extreme right will be renewed. We cannot tolerate, in a liberal democracy, the systematic contestation of the results of the ballot boxes, the complacency for political violence, the unhealthy obsession with skin color, authoritarianism and the sectarian spirit, the revolutionary fervor motivated by hatred of one’s own society, the fascination with retrograde religious systems. La France insoumise will therefore be dissolved.

2. Our border policy must become more humanist. Algeria – progressive activists do not fail to praise it – is a fantastic country, while France is a racist and Islamophobic nation. We therefore propose to finance the removals to Algeria of all those who would like to do so, and to prevent Algerians – for their own good – from settling in an oppressive country.
