On the night of December 25 to 26, the Dijon firefighters intervened from 1 a.m. for a fire that occurred in a room at the Foyer Mutualiste Georges Sand, located in Chenôve, at 12 rue Georges Sand. This building, classified as an Establishment Receiving the Public (ERP), required rapid and coordinated mobilization to limit the consequences of this incident.
From the first minutes, firefighters were deployed in large numbers to control the situation. At the height of the intervention, 44 firefighters were mobilized on site. Their rapid action, combined with the prevention devices present in the establishment, made it possible to control the main source of the fire and prevent its spread.
As part of safety measures, transfer evacuations were carried out to protect residents. A resident, slightly inconvenienced by the smoke, was treated by a SAMU doctor present on site. After examination, he was able to remain within the establishment.
Thanks to the responsiveness of the rescue teams and the preventive measures in place, material losses were limited. No serious injuries have been reported, and the fire is now completely extinguished.
This incident highlights the importance of prevention systems and security protocols in ERPs, which have played a decisive role in ensuring the protection of human lives. The rapid and massive intervention of the Dijon firefighters was praised for its effectiveness.
