The weather forecast for Christmas 2024 is becoming clearer. While Météo is forecasting a still hectic weekend, the trend for the holidays should be quite different, particularly for Christmas and New Year's Eve. According to meteorologists, “the weather looks generally calm and dry”, for Tuesday December 24 and Wednesday December 25, 2024, as indicated by François Gourand, forecaster with France Bleu, Thursday December 19, 2024. If certain regions could hope to see a few flakes, especially in the mountains such as the Jura, the Vosges and the Alps, most of France will not experience snow for Santa Claus' visit this year. But if the snow (nor the rain) will not be there, the sun will not be either. Indeed, in the plains, gray weather will dominate over a large part of the country, especially in the North and West. The South, on the other hand, will benefit from clearings, particularly on the Mediterranean rim where the mistral and the tramontana will blow.

Temperature-wise, Tuesday December 24, 2024, they “will be rather mild, close to seasonal norms”, according to the weather specialist. We expect between 8 and 10°C in the North, and 9 to 13°C in the South On Christmas Day, December 25, the country will still be divided in two meteorologically while the northern half will remain under thick cloud cover, the south will benefit from brighter weather.
