His ex-partner had tried to forcefully enter the house where his child was, of whom the father has sole custody. The man then allegedly hit her before forcing her into his car.
On December 18, people in Nice said they witnessed a scene of rare violence. According to their testimonies, a motorist hit a woman, before beating her and forcing her into his vehicle. After investigation, the prosecution states that there is nothing to “confirm that the victim had been hit with a vehicle”.
The investigation, however, showed that the man in question had a dispute with his ex-partner over their common child. Around 4 p.m., the woman allegedly attempted to forcefully enter the grandmother’s home where the child was located, of whom the father has sole custody.
The man admits to violence
The man then allegedly hit his ex-partner several times before forcing her into his vehicle, to drop her off a few kilometers further, near the Jean-Bouin swimming pool. He was arrested around twenty minutes after the incident.
The victim was also found. She said she had been punched several times and had marks on her face. However, she refused to file a complaint and to be examined by a forensic doctor.
At the end of the confrontation, the accused admitted having slapped him. He was referred this Friday, December 20, for violence against a spouse as part of an immediate appearance procedure.
