Habib Beye will ultimately not be Antoine Kombouaré's successor at the head of FC Nantes. The ex-Red Star coach, who had proposed a plan to take charge of the Canaries, did not convince the club's leaders, Waldemar and Franck Kita, according to The Team.
After a series of poor results, with seven defeats in the last twelve days of Ligue 1, Kombouaré seems more and more threatened, although he is still in office. Negotiations between the Kitas and Habib Beye failed, mainly because of the collaborators that the ex-Red Star coach wanted to bring with him. The profile of Sébastien Bichard, his deputy at Red Star, did not appeal to Nantes decision-makers, and the option of physical trainer Grégory Dupont was also ruled out, Dupont having refused the offer.

For now, Antoine Kombouaré should still lead the team in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France, against Drancy on Saturday. The Kitas, after having failed to convince Sergio Conceiçao, remain awaiting a final decision concerning the future of their coach.
