The increase is moderate, but the territory of Lannion-Trégor Community (LTC) continues to gain inhabitants during the period 2016-2022. Exactly 974 more inhabitants, an average increase of 0.16% per year.

According to figures published Thursday, December 19 by INSEE (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies), the Agglo de Lannion will have, in 2022, 100,877 inhabitants, which places it in eighth regional rank, between and Western . (102,574) and Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique (91,034), and in third departmental rank, behind the towns of Saint-Brieuc (154,023) and Dinan (104,442).

Of the 57 municipalities of LTC, 21 are seeing their population increase. The strongest progression, by far (+ 2.8% on annual average), concerns Trévou-Tréguignec, which gains 242 inhabitants between 2016 and 2022, to reach a total of 1,581 inhabitants.

Conversely, the population of 19 municipalities is decreasing. Troguéry (- 3.2%, – 47 inhabitants) recorded the largest drop, followed by Loguivy-Plougras (- 2.7%; – 141 inhabitants) and Plouzélambre (- 2.5%; – 33 inhabitants). The last 17 have a stable population.

    The central town of Trégor confirms its positive demographic dynamics. The number of Lannionnais increased on average by 0.6% per year, or +694 inhabitants over the period studied. With 20,525 inhabitants in 2022, Lannion is the second town in Côtes-d’Armor behind the Saint-Brieuc prefecture (44,607 inhabitants) and ahead of Lamballe-Armor (16,911). Down one rank at the regional level compared to the previous study, Lannion is in eleventh place, between two towns of Ille-et-Vilaine, Fougères (20,602 inhabitants) and Bruz (19,667).

  • 4 The west of the territory better off than the east

    The attractiveness of Lannion benefits several neighboring municipalities, such as Ploubezre (+163 inhabitants), Trébeurden (+157), Trégastel (+85), Caouënnec-Lanvézéac (+36) and Rospez (+34). Despite a few exceptions, the west of the LTC territory concentrates the municipalities with the greatest demographic vitality. A dynamic particularly favorable to municipalities close to the RN 12, such as Plouaret (+ 85), Plounérin (+ 66), Plounévez-Moëdec (+ 39) or Trégrom (+ 30).

    To the east of a Trévou-Tréguignec – Cavan line, the trend is less buoyant. Only Lézardrieux is an exception: +163 inhabitants, an increase of 1.8% per year.

  • 5 Behind Perros, five municipalities with more than 3,000 inhabitants

    Behind Lannion, Perros-Guirec is the second most populated town in Trégor. With 7,260 inhabitants in 2022 (+0.1% average annual growth over the period), the city of hydrangeas is the 12th city in Côtes-d’Armor. Pleumeur-Bodou (3,828 inhabitants, – O. 6% in annual average) completes the podium. LTC includes four other municipalities with more than 3,000 inhabitants: Trébeurden (3,827; + 0.7%), Ploubezre (3,741; + 0.7%), Plestin-les-Grèves (3,649; + 0.3%) ) and Louannec (3,053; -0.1%).

At the other end, Tréduder remains the least populated municipality (201 inhabitants in 2022), close to its neighbor Plouzélambre (202). However, the first gains inhabitants (+ 5 between 2016 and 2022, i.e. + 0.4% on annual average) while the second loses them (- 33 over the same period, i.e. – 2.5% per year).
