The final is fast approaching for the candidates of the Best pastry chef 2024. This Thursday, December 19, they competed to win their place in the semi-final. Find out who was eliminated.
M6 was in the colors of Portugal this Thursday, December 19 for the quarter-finals of the Best pastry chef 2024. For the first time at this stage of the show, only men remain in the competition, namely José, Timothée, Romain, Benjamin and Tsiory. Last week, Romain returned to the competition after winning Who will return to the tent?and he even won the blue apron, boosted by his return. After consideration by Cyril Lignac and Mercotte, it was Laurène who left the adventure during the last episode.
The Best Pastry Chef 2024 : what to remember from the eleventh episode on M6
For the quarter-finals, the pastry chefs still in the running competed on the theme of Portugal and had to represent one of the country’s emblems, such as the Lisbon tram or the Rooster of Barcelos. The work of José and Tsiory was praised by the jury which gave them the first places in the ranking, unlike Timothée and Romain who finished in last position.. The guest chef for this eleventh episode was none other than Jorge Cardoso, Portugal’s most successful pastry chef. He asked them to reproduce his mosaic bird but he didn’t just provide them with the recipe. To have as many elements as possible, the candidates had to taste the preparations one by one, blindfolded, and find the flavors. Each good point allowed them to receive part of the recipe. It was Tsiory who stood out in this exercise with 6 points out of 6. Despite only four clues, Timothée amazed the jury and won first place for the seventh time (out of eleven) on the technical test.
Who was eliminated from Best pastry chef 2024 and will not go to the semi-final?
For the last test of the week, the pastry chefs had to reinterpret a flagship Portuguese treat, pastel de nata, while respecting tradition. Timothée obtained his third Golden Cupcake of the season and Tsiory his third blue apron, tying with José. After deliberation by Cyril Lignac and Mercotte, it was Romain who definitively left the competition, despite making a comeback last week. The semi-final will therefore be played between Timothée, Tsiory, José and Benjamin. The grand final will be broadcast on Thursday January 9 on M6.
