F-ZERO 99 receives a new update: the Ice Tower event is live!

F-ZERO 99 received updates and very good follow-up throughout the year. At the end of 2024, the game is certainly receiving what will be its last update of the year.

Version 1.5.5 is now available. To the program of this update, the Ice Tower event has been added. This temporary event will take place for the next 30 days. The circuits will be covered with ice during this period. The Grand Prix events for the Cavalier league will take place on normal circuits. The Star Rivals are also making their comeback!

New Features

• The Ice Tower event has been added. All tracks in the game will be covered in snow and appear as frozen tracks. By collecting Spark Jewels that appear on frozen tracks, players can obtain event-exclusive rewards.
  • The Ice Tower event will be available for a limited time. You can see the remaining time of the event by pressing the L button in the Main Menu.
  • If you reach at least one level in the Position Lottery during the event period, you will receive 500 Spark Jewels as a reward.
  • Classic Circuits and Secret Circuits will not become frozen tracks.
  • Grand Prix events for the Cavalier League, etc. will take place on normal circuits.
  • Frozen circuits will not appear in Private Rooms.
• Added a special event called Ice Tower in which players compete for ranking over 9 consecutive races when the event is active.
  • The Tour de Glace is a series of nine races, with each race consisting of three laps. The rules are based on a points system where rankings are determined by the total points awarded for each round, the number of eliminations, and the number of spark jewels collected during the three rounds of the race.
  • In the Ice Tower, the more players there are in the lobby, the more potential points players can earn during the race.
  • A Tour de Glace high score ranking tab has been added to the weekly leaderboard. This ranking will be reset every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. PST (00:00 UTC).
  • A player ranked 999th or better in the Ice Tour will receive a special badge. This badge can only be obtained once during the duration of the event.
  • An Ice Tower category has been added to the Prizes in the “statistics” tab of the Workshop.
• The Star Rivals will make their return. They will occasionally appear on frozen track races during the Tour de Glace event.
  • Star Rivals will not appear in Team Battles and Lobby Races.
  • Star Rivals include Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh, Dr. Stewart, and Pico from the SNES version of F-ZERO.
  • When you defeat a Star Rival in a race where they have been chosen as your Rival, you will receive a special badge that can be used to customize Driver Cards. (This offer is limited to players who have not already received one).
• Added Boost colors and Rotation Effects for machine customization, as well as backgrounds, badges and borders for Driver Card customization. These items can be unlocked when certain conditions are met.
• Maximum player level increased from 399 to 699.
  • The colors ☆ for players level 100-399 and players level 400-699 are now different to distinguish them.
• Decals for BS F-ZERO GRAND PRIX machines can now be used in Team Battles.
• The player’s Driver Card is now also displayed on the Driver Cards display screen before the start of the race.
• When you obtain all the emotes in the EMOTES section of the Workshop, each character’s emotes will now be displayed vertically.

  Other Problems
• Fixed issues for a smoother gaming experience.
