The two US coaches who were victims of arson at the end of October in western expressed their relief after the police arrested three suspects.

Kader and Jordi, the two coaches of the U11 (under 11) of US Colomiers football, did not hide their satisfaction this Wednesday, after the arrest and indictment of three men suspected of being origin of the fires in their vehicles at the end of October.

“The police must have convincing evidence to have been interested in them,” said Jordi after training. “For us, it’s a real relief. Now we’re going to wait for the outcome with the judgment.”

“A strong message”

An online fundraiser had been created to support Kader. In fact, the fire in his car had spread to his garage and his home. If confidence played a role, solidarity and team spirit were also there.

“Almost €4,000 was collected. It’s not nothing. He no longer had a bed, no more dryer, no more sofa… It allows him to get back on track. He is very moved. Besides, without explaining to the children why, he told them that today (Editor’s note, Wednesday), he had a special emotion to be there.”

Beyond the Colomiers football club, the coaches hope that this investigation and the seriousness with which it was carried out will carry “a strong message to parents regarding the behavior to adopt at the side of the pitch”.
