The Free Ukraine association, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Saint-Céré, launched a crucial and essential initiative: fundraising for the purchase of a generator for the rehabilitation space. This charitable project, led by the Marlog International Volunteer Logistics Center, in partnership with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the Kovel City Council, aims to provide a place of rehabilitation for soldiers and their families, in the city of Kovel located in western Ukraine.
Every day, defenders who sacrificed their health for Ukraine return to Kovel. According to current estimates, the community of soldiers returning from the front numbers more than 3,400 people, of whom 253 are war-disabled people, and 726 families have lost a loved one. And these numbers continue to increase. Veterans and families of the fallen need ongoing psychological, social and physical support. This 310 m2 center will include several functional areas: for individual work, training, informal exchanges, sports activities, psychological support, and leisure activities shared with families. The demand for these services is immense, hence this call for help to equip the center with the 20 MW power generator. The overall budget for this generator is €5,500 (the purchase of the new generator is €5,000, transport is €500). The Rotary Club of Saint-Céré, having collected €924 thanks to the sale of typical Ukrainian craft objects during the Christmas market, means that the online prize pool is to date €3,974. The “secret” objective of €5,000 is therefore achievable! All the members of RC Saint-Céré would like to thank the Saint-Céréens for their participation in the success of the Christmas market. The latter had been dedicated to the online prize pool for the purchase of the electric generator.
