France has incredible talent (M6): The dream continues for drag queen Créatine Price who joins the semi-final!

After the quarter-finals, you are in the semi-finals! Are you starting to feel some pressure?

Jordan/Creatine Price: No, I don’t really have any pressure (laughs). I’m happy to be there, I’m just here for the vibes so there you go, when Karine Lemarchand said: ‘Creatine Price’, I said: ‘Oh shit!’ (laughs). Because I felt like I wasn’t going to go that far, so I don’t know, I started thinking, what am I going to sing? Do I have an idea of a number that is really powerful, that will allow me to go to the final? And then I say to myself if it goes well, does that mean that I will be able to go to the final? excitement rather than pressure.

Following your anecdote about the creation of your costume, how are you going to do it next?

Now I have a designer who is in New York. His name is Luis and I found him by chance (laughs). A friend of mine said to me, ‘There’s another designer who does a lot of costumes for drag queens here in New York named Nicolas.’ And when I asked him, he told me he didn’t have time but he had a friend who really makes spectacular dresses. I said OK (laughs). He’s Colombian, and he’s truly amazing! He makes very beautiful dresses and he was the one who took care of my dress for the semi-final.

How do you feel when you are Creatine Price and not Jordan?

I feel more than myself. I feel like a real diva. When I’m done with my makeup, and I look in the mirror, I’m like, ‘Okay, she’s here. She’s there’. It’s something that really makes me come alive on stage, I feel like I’m another person. When I’m on stage, I’m no longer Jordan, it’s not me but Creatine Price. These are two separate things.

Would you like to send a message to viewers?

I meant what I said on stage. I said drag queens are humans too. We have emotions, we have feelings just like everyone else. By seeking to be an artist, we ask for respect, we just ask to be accepted as we are. The world needs to learn that drag queens are human too. When I see comments on Instagram that are negative, and sometimes even border on hatred, I wonder why? Why did the person write this? You take so much time out of your limited day here on Earth to do this, why?

How do you feel about being on the verge of the final?

I feel like if it ends here, it’s okay for me. Because I really feel like I did something new, that I tried to do my best, you know? So, in my heart I have no doubt that I have already won by going this far. For me, just to have gotten this far is a success, an accomplishment. If I don’t win, it doesn’t affect me because being included, being on stage, was already huge for me.

How did you experience meeting Marianne James, whom you only know digitally?

She told me it was incredible that I was there, she was very moved. She completely loved what I did and I loved her. We chatted a bit and I’m a complete fan of Marianne James in every sense of the word, because as she always says: “You’re amazing.” And she’s the great one! She is truly a woman who inspires me, an artist who inspires me a lot. She really touches me.
