On the eve of the confectioners’ truce, the Condom Boxing Club took stock of its past season and the prospects for the new one which is opening.

Managers, coaches and athletes from the Condom Boxing Club will now enjoy a well-deserved break until January 7. Before that, around their president Gilles Maccagnan, everyone met in their room in the combat sports hall for a calm and rapid general assembly.

The meeting thus highlighted everyone’s efforts to maintain, albeit a little slowly but consistently, activity in the ring. “The office did what was necessary to ensure last season and make the club function on a sporting level despite the administrative complications,” recalled Gilles Maccagnan. The latter underlined the faithful support of private financial partners but also the subsidy obtained from the municipality by the club’s treasurer, Laurence Bosi.

If the time of national results and the big gala seems far away for the club, it nevertheless remains with around fifty licensees and very present on the local scene where it is represented at each event, but also during departmental solicitations and those at the regional level, with the federation. So the boxing club was still at the Gauge festival last school year or during the day dedicated to adapted sport at the stadium.

Labeled “Silver Glove” by its national federation, holder of an adapted sports section, the association also had a worthy ambassador between the ropes, in the person of Steven Vouillaume, who wore the Condom colors until the championships. The fact remains that the club will still experience a year of “transition”.

As Gilles Maccagnan, the hall’s provost, explained, Christian Artigaut being injured, it is with Rémy Désarnaud, his future partner currently undergoing federal training, that he will share the training supervision on Tuesdays. evening. “I will get my federal provost diploma next July and we will then be able to follow the fights officially with Christian,” explains the person concerned.

Its mission will thus be to relaunch the training of the youngest and to supervise future competitors, including girls who lift their gloves, in competitions at the departmental and regional levels.
