On December 17, 2024, Apple updated the web version of its Apple Maps app to include support for the “Look Around” feature, analogous to Google Street View.
Here’s what we know
Users can now view high-quality panoramas of streets, restaurants, stores, attractions and other points of interest in supported locations.
This feature was available on iOS devices, but non-Apple users can now use it through the web version of the maps. “Look Around” is available in several cities across the United States, as well as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and other countries. The full list of cities is available on Apple’s website.
The web version of Apple Maps also allows users to get driving and walking directions, find places of interest, view reviews and opening hours, and order food. It is compatible with Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers on Mac, iPad and Windows.
